Luxury Stay-cation on a Budget: Miami Edition

Hey Fashionista’s! If you know me, than you know that traveling is one of my favorite things to do. So I was able to take a luxury “stay-cation” on South Beach this weekend, without breaking the bank. If you want to know how I did it, just keep reading….

My first stop was to a restaurant called Swan which is located in the design district. This is a very popular restaurant in Miami and can it can get pretty pricey, being that it owned by Pharell Williams. This restaurant is included in Miami Spice. What is Miami Spice you ask? Miami Spice is when a variety of restaurants in Miami offer a discounted menu of three-course meals for just $28 for lunch/brunch and $42 for dinner. (excluding drinks) This takes place from August 1st until September 31st every year. I opted for the Chilled King Crab Corned Soup, the Blackened Fish Tacos, and the Sorbet at Swan. The food and service were absolutely amazing! Make sure you dress super cute, this place is very instagrammable.

Now let’s head a little further south to the Mondrian South Beach. Upon arrival at this luxurious hotel you are greeted with Champagne and a bellman to help with your luggage. This property features a restaurant and multiple pools over looking the ocean. I paid $250 for a one bedroom suite, which was a deal. I caught this deal on orbitz, it is usually about $400 a night for a one bedroom suite.

On the Mondrian’s property is a restaurant called, Baia. This restaurant definitely gives you Tulum vibes with the wood accessories and greenery. I without a doubt had to check out Baia, being that is also on the Miami Spice list. If you go here you must try the “summertime crush” drink, it is very refreshing. The ambiance and service was impeccable.

About 10 minutes away from the Mondrian is the Setai where I decided to go for a spa day to take advantage of Miami Spa month. Miami spa month is where a variety of spa’s offers 50% off of their services. This usually takes place July 1st to August 31st every year. I paid $139 for a 50 minute massage, which includes access to a variety amenities. My massage was amazing and the spa’s staff was very friendly. After my massage I headed their private beach where they provided lounge chairs, umbrellas, and towels. There was also service on the beach where you can order drinks and food. (at an additional cost of course)

After a relaxing day of massages and lounging on the beach. I decided to stay on the property and go to the Jaya for dinner. And yes you guessed it, this restaurant was on the Miami Spice list. This Asian theme restaurant is the epitome of luxury. I ordered sushi and the curry salmon which were both very flavorful. Jaya also offered entertainment which included a acrobatic performance. I dined outside by the courtyard pool, but they also offer indoor dining. The staff was very attentive and accommodating.

Whoever said that you cannot “ball on budget” never met me. I had an amazing luxury stay-cation for half of the price on South Beach. If you miss the deals this year, keep in mind that Miami Spice & Miami Spa month happen every year. Please keep in mind that each business charges a service charge. HAPPY VACATIONING!
